‘Hi, VR! I see that in your latest update, there is a section called “Ramayana for _________” in which we can select different options. Can you share something from the section Ramayana for Achievers?’ asked Maanav while sifting through the app's newer features.‘Certainly Maanav. Here are some instances from the Yuddha Kaand of Ramayana where Hanuman focuses on doing what needs to be done no matter how challenging or tiresome. That is one of the hallmarks of all great achievers.’ replied VR.‘Always glad to hear the tales of Hanuman! Please go ahead VR’‘Indrajit, the son of Raavan, was a formidable opponent well-versed in divine weapons and the tricks of illusion. He launched a special weapon of Brahma that continuously rained arrows on the entire vanara army. Most of the army including its leaders were injured severely by these arrows. Only Vibheeshan who knew the tricks of the weapons and Hanuman who was immune to the effects of all weapons remained unharmed. Ram and Lakshmana were also injured but could still fight. However, seeing the destruction caused by the arrows, they decided to pretend to be unconscious so that Indrajit would leave thinking he had vanquished them. Once he left, the arrows would also stop, and thus the arrow shower would end.’‘Wow! That’s smart thinking from Ram and Lakshmana. But how did the Vanara army recover from this?’ asked Maanav curiously..‘Vibheeshan who was tending to the injured approached Jambavan who asked him if Hanuman was safe. Vibheeshan was surprised that he asked for Hanuman’s safety ahead of Sugreeva, Angada, Rama, and Lakshmana to which Jambavan responded by saying that if Hanuman was alive then everyone would be safe, and if not, then nobody would be safe.’‘Yes! I remember this iconic conversation from our earlier discussion about the power of encouragement!’ reminisced Maanav.‘Glad to see you still remember that, Maanav! Hanuman then approached Jamabavan who suggested that Hanuman fly to the Himalayas and locate the peak between Mountains Rishabha and Kailasha from where he was to fetch four herbs Mrita Sanjivani (capable of restoring the dead to life), Vishalyakarani (capable of extracting weapons and healing all wounds inflicted by weapons), Suvarnakarani (restoring the body to its original complexion) and Sandhani, the great herb (capable of joining severed limbs or fractured bone). He said these herbs would be glowing so it would be easy to identify them.Without wasting any time, Hanuman immediately got ready to fly a distance of over 2500 km in search of herbs that he had no idea of!.(To be continued…)
